Odprto morje / Fire at sea, Gianfranco Rosi, Italy, 2016, 114'

The film won the Academy Award for best documentary in 2015. It depicts the plight of the migrants, the boat people, and what happens to them if they succeed to arrive at the shores of Italy. With passion and compassion the filmmaker draws the audience into the very centre of all moral questions that relate to migration, flight, and the question of tolerance and acceptance in the European society.
