People's Democratic Circus Sakeshviliis is coming to Mini teater on April 4 from the Israeli theatre academy Nissan nativ Acting Studio Jerusalem.Rok Vilčnik won 2016 Slavko Grum Award for the dramatic text.
People's Democratic Circus Sakeshviliis a story of small state, where everything is restricted and regulated. One needs voucher even for masturbation, suicide or happiness. Equality reached its final limit, not even sexes exist anymore, while there is only one love – for the »lifetime« president Sakeshvili, who carries the same name as everybody else in the state. However, the author is more than in a dictatorship itself, interested in victims, citizens of the system who perform / live in the circus, where the show and audience are not separated. They lost their identity long time ago and when the news on the president'sdeathspread, they can'tremember who and what they used to be as they also can'tbecome someone else and start a new life. Freedom is too frightening; it brings risks they can't face (anymore).
Through a series of absurdly comic situations, People's Democratic Circus Sakeshvilimainly addresses the topic of »brain wash« and how it also flushes away individual's personality, dignity and all that defines him as a human being.
