The story of the London underworld, entitled The Threepenny Opera (1928), with legendary characters like Mack the Knife, king of the beggars Peachum, Chief of Police Tiger Brown and a brothel whore Jenny, one of Brechts most famous, if not even the most notorious plays; characteristic of Bertold Brecht. We can see how exciting and notorious the topic and the opera were, from the fact that the film was made only three years after the opera was created.
