Two Extraordinary Performances Directed by Ivica Buljan

On March 14, the Slovene Youth Theatre Ljubljana offered an extraordinary opening night with the performance Die eine und die andere by  Botha Strauss. It was directed by Ivica Buljan (his assistant was Robert Waltl) who is one of the founders of MINI TEATER. The music was written by Mitja Vrhovnik Smrekar, the costumes were designed by Ana Savić gecan, set design is signed by the Nomen group. The roles were excellently intepreted by the members of the above theatre. The play represents a sharp and drastic constuction, an intelectual boulevard play depicting two women who loved the same man, about their two children, about situations and relations in their uneasy life. It is a parody showing us the life in the seventies in East Germany.

Soon after his success as a director in Ljubljana, Ivica Buljan had a chance to thrill the Croatian public with the opening night in Pula. The performance The Little Fish by Pier Paolo Pasolini proved to be another great achievement in Buljan's directing career. The main roles of the play performed in the City Theatre in Pula were played by Lucija Šerbedžija and Jose. The music was written by the famous Croatian musician Arsen Dedić, the costumes were again designed by Ana Savić Gecan.
