Mini teater in the festival Zadarsnova in Croatia

On August 7, the 10th International Festival of Modern Theatre ZADARSNOVA began in the Croatian town Zadar. The Festival closed on August 14.

The Association Zadarsnova was founded in 1997. Its goal was to promote and to produce contemporary art. This year the Festival presented different theatres as well as teatre and dance groups: DB Indoš, House of extreme music theatre & Kultura promjene SC from Zagreb; Zadarsnova from Zadar; Teatar ITD and Novo Kazalište from Zagreb; Dance Ensemble Zadar; Compagnie Tactus & Obviam Est, Sion from Switzerland, Teatar EXIT from Zagreb. As the only theatre representing Slovenia, Mini teater from Ljubljana presented three performances:

- The dramolet Schneewittchen After Party by Robert Walser, directed by Ivica Buljan, was presented on August 8 in the palace Providur. In this radical interpretation of Snowhite the roles were played by: Veronika Drolc, Ana Karić, Robert Waltl, Niko Goršič and the musicians Gregor Cvetko, Blaž Celarec and Anže Palka. In 2004, the performance was awarded the Special Award of the Jury at the 38th Slovene National Borstnik Festival and the Grand Prix Award as the best performance at the Festival Actores – Tempus Art in Slovakia.

- The virtual puppet performance for children Thumbellina,  directed and performed by Robert Waltl was presented on August 9 in the open air theatre in the square Trg Stojana S. Jankovića. The concept for this performance was written by Darij Kreuh and Tadej Fius.  This is one of the most beautiful and most touching fairytales written by Hans Ch. Andersen. The performance was produced by Forum Ljubljana and Cankarjev dom Ljubljana. It was presented on tours from Teheran and Istanbul to Vienna and Milan.  

- The post-modern drama Quartett by Heiner Müller, directed by Francois-Michel Pesenti and performed by Ana Karić and Robert Waltl. The pre-opening night was on August 13 in the church of St Nikola in Zadar.
