»Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.« (Andy Warhol)

Marilyn Monroe, a woman who invented herself, represents one of the greatest myths in the pop culture of the 20th century. Her life and her death are still stirring the imagination of many a worshipper, admirer, and imitator all over the world.

The monodrama BE MARILYN MONROE is the story of a young Slovene MM (Mirela Mohorič) who is asked to perform as imitator of Marilyn Monroe at a party organised for a group of rich business men. Mirela considers this event as her great opportunity to break through in the world of fame and estrade glamour. Just like her idol she denies her own self. For her, the role of the famous star represents a rehearsal on how to change and how to totally adjust herself to her appearing in the media – how to become an instant star. Now! On the spot!

The basic problem and the dramatic knot will arise when the denier becomes denied - by her own self.

Andy Warhol, one of the leading representatives of the pop culture in the 20th century, changed his statement eventually:

I'm bored with that line. I never use it anymore. My new line is "In 15 minutes everybody will be famous."
