Just the End of the World  is  Jean-Luc Lagarce's most often staged play and probably also his most personal piece. His drama work has become very popular recently, not only in France but also worldwide. In his short life Jean-Luc Lagarce was known only to rare connoisseurs and admirers. This was presumed to be a burden to him. With his colleagues he founded a theatre group putting on stage some selected authors (Beckett, Goldoni, Marivaux ...) and his own plays. There are twenty-five of them, and beside plays he wrote also novels, newspaper feuilletons, a film script, diaries ... Today, exceptional attention is dedicated to his extensive work, especially to his plays that actually over flew the stages in France and in the world.  At the moment, Jean-Luc Lagarce is the most often staged 20th century playwright ever.
