In the morning at 10 o`clock: performance of a puppet theatre »Key theatre« from Tel Aviv titled Ko je bilo vse zeleno (When everything was green). Puppet performance without any words, in silence portrays the mankind, nature and greed and it was awarded at many international festivals. The performance is primarily intended for children and families.

- At 12 o`clock we are preparingan exceptional event on the occasion of official establishment of the Jewish Cultural Center Library.

On this occasion, Janez Vajkar Valvasor Foundation at Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) will donate to Jewish Cultural Center Library a complete collection of "Iconotheca Valvasoriana".
Iconotheca Valvasoriana is facsimile, scientifically and critically processed graphic collection of Janez Vajkard Valvasor. It encompasses

seventeen large format books with 7.752 graphic sheets –graphics, drawings and watercolor paintings- of well-known and also unknown –German, Austrian, Dutch, Flemish, French, Italian, English and Carniolian- artists from 15th, 16th and 17th century, including AlbrechtDürer, Lucas Cranach, Rembrandt van Rijn and Jacques Callot.

Reprint of the complete collection -Iconotheco Valvasoriano- was published by Janez Vajkar Valvasor Foundation at Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in 100 numbered sets.

It took 8 years (2000-2008) for the project manager, editor and designer Lojze Gostiša and his team to finish the project. Each individual graphics in the collection has its own scientific commentary in Slovenian, Croatian and English, they are printed on a high-quality Swedish paper, produced from cultivated trees whilst the binding is made exclusively by hand – in half-leather bound separate books with original back-side ornaments, serial number and title page in German with Valvasor`s bookplate (ex libris) on the inner sides of covers. Graphics are affixed on the sheets which are part of the separate book while some of the sheets are directly bound into the book.

Iconotheca Valvasoriana is the largest facsimile graphic collection in the world and also unique because the consistent facsimile print is scientifically and critically processed in three languages.

Facsimiles will be handed over to the manager of Jewish Cultural center in Ljubljana Rober Waltl and to art director Polona Vetrih by the art historian Lojze Gostiša, manager of the project Iconotheca Valvasoriana.

The attendance at the event was already confirmed by acad. Tadej Bajd, president of SASA, executive director of SASA Zoran Mezeg and other numerous distinguished guests. The program will bring together Slovenian theatre actors and musicians.

On this occasion the exhibition of Slovenian Judaica will be opened in the premises of Jewish Cultural Center. And for the first time the public will get to meet two exceptional paintings of Slovenian painters Anton Karinger (Ljubljanski Jud Lazar Pollak, 1861-Lazar Pollak, A Jew from Ljubljana, 1861) and Bard Iucundus (Rabin-Rabbi). These are truly outstanding acquisitions of our emerging JCC Museum in Ljubljana.

It will be a great honor and joy if you choose to join us.
