A restored silent film from the 1920s tells the story of a young man from a Jewish family who wants to become an actor at the Viennese Burgtheater. The film will be accompanied by live music. The soloists are from New York.

Exhibition by Mexican artist Vida Yovanovich consists of six visual and acoustic installations dealing with the horrifying fate of victims from Mauthausen, one of the most deadly concentration camps of World War II.

There have been Jews in Scotland since at least the 17th century, initially only very few came to study at Scotland’s famed universities followed by increasing numbers through the 19th and into the 20th century as persecution in Eastern Europe made Jewish life increasingly precarious.Jews came to Scotland seeking refuge – and found a home.

La casa dei bambini/Children's House documents the story of hundreds of 
children who were brought to safety by a brigade of Jewish soldiers in the 
British Army. Until 1948, the small Lombard town of Selvino gave them a safe 
haven. When the state of Israel was founded the "Children of Selvino" went on to Israel.

Documentary deals with the traumas of second and third generation of Carinthian Slovenian families who were persecuted by Germans and Austrian before, during and after World War II.

Songs by the ensemble and a selected poems that have been written by prisoners of the Nazi and fascist labour and concentration camps. The poems are shocking and touching because they describe the unthinkable horror in the camps, but at the same time reflect the strong will to survive, to resist and to fight for freedom.

Much discussed feature film with Rachel Weisz in the leading role of a Jewish woman who had left her Orthodox milieu in London because the community showed no tolerance towards different sexual orientations. The film is exceptional for its acting and deals with the ambiguity of love, sexual orientations and acceptance.
Screening will be preceded by a panel discussion with Suzana Tratnik organized by Slovene PEN centre.

Stumbling stones by Gunter Demnig are the biggest memorial of victims of Nazi persecution. Demnig remembers the victims of Nazism by placing brassy cubes on the pavement in front of victims' last address.

Open air exhibition: The annual exhibition of posters on the topic of tolerance that we admired in the previous editions of the House of Tolerance festival and which was designed by prominent artists from around the globe, has been expanded and complemented with posters by new creators. The exhibition already toured across Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia, Spain, the Netherlands, and Washington, USA.

Renowned historian and professor Ivo Goldstein will present his new book about the Croatian concentration camp in Jasenovac together with the chief editor of the publishing house Fraktura, Seid Serdarević.
