The film presents the moving story of the Ulma family: Józef and Wiktoria and their seven children. The Ulmas sacrificed their lives trying to save two Jewish families. On March 24, 1944, the Germans committed an unspeakable crime, murdering the entire Ulma family. This is the starting point for the director to investigate the story. Its results are shocking… The director reached to previously unpublished materials, conducted a number of conversations, followed the post-war trail of those responsible for the murder. He discovers the truth that the perpetrators of this cruel crime were not punished, and the gendarme who sentenced the Ulma family and executed them, enjoyed respect and recognition in Germany for years.
