Premiere of The Ballad of the Trumpet and the Cloud

On 11^th October 2024, Mini teater premeired The Ballad of the Trumpet and the Cloud by Ciril Kosmač The show was directed by Žiga Hren and performed by NežaDvorščak, Alja Krhin, Mark Rafolt and Jure Šimonka. The performance was co-produced with the University of Ljubljana - Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television and is the master's thesis of director Žiga Hren. According to the Slovenian Theatre Institute, Kosmač's novel was last performed in Slovenia in 1977. This is the first time that the play has been performed on Slovenian stages in 47 years. The novel was also made into a film in 1961, which was directed by Františ Štiglic. The novel itself was translated into 15 languages, selling more than one million copies in Chine alone. The author's team included dramaturgist Iva Štefanija Slosar, set designer Karolína Kotrbová, costume designer Nina Čehovin, music selection and sound design by Lucas Carboni Kopše and Žiga Hren, lighting design by Domen Lušin, and lector Martin Vrtačnik.
