About the performance
Once upon a time, there was a boy who loved to draw more than anything. Adults did not understand or appreciate his imagination, so he gave up his joy for drawing and decided to become a pilot instead. Years later, as a grown man, he experienced an accident while flying over the Sahara and was forced to make an emergency landing in the middle of the desert. He had enough water in his backpack for only eight days, and there was no sign of life anywhere. Suddenly, he heard a mysterious voice behind him. He turned around and saw a boy standing before him. It was the Little Prince.
They became engaged in a genuine and heartfelt conversation in which the Little Prince revealed fragments of his life. He spoke about his small planet, his love for a unique flower, and his journey among the stars, during which he met fascinating and somewhat peculiar characters. He encountered a king, a businessman, a lamplighter… Each character conveyed a message that made him reflect on the adult world and the values we so often forget.
Through this enchanting tale, the pilot rediscovers the beauty in simplicity, the value of friendship, the power of imagination, and—most importantly—he reconnects with his inner child.
The play The Little Prince, based on the iconic literary work by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, is a tender, poetic, and at the same time playful puppet adaptation. Through a blend of moving moments and humorous touches, it speaks to both children and adults.
Directed by Vladimir Krasnobaev, who brings freshness and subtlety to the story. All the characters on stage are brought to life by actor Timotej Novaković, who, with the help of various puppets and narrative performance, creates a diverse and emotionally rich theatrical experience. Set designer Karolína Kotrbová has crafted a magical world with a simple yet visually expressive style – a world among the stars, where reality merges with dreams.
This is a performance that speaks to the heart – gently, warmly, and with a great deal of imagination. It is suitable for all generations: for children, who will delight in its fairy-tale quality, and for adults, who may once again glimpse the world through a child's eyes.
