Ljubljana, 2nd - 10th November 2026
Dear friends, dear guests,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 12th House of Tolerance – House of Others Festival, taking place in Ljubljana from 2nd to 10th November 2026, once again opening a space for art, encounters, dialogue, and reflection on the world we live in.
At a time when our world seems increasingly divided, when hatred too often drowns out reason, and when antisemitism, racism, xenophobia, and intolerance are once again spreading with alarming force, we believe that spaces for understanding, solidarity, and genuine human connection are more important than ever.
For twelve years, our festival has sought to create precisely such a space. A place where diversity is not perceived as a threat but embraced as a source of richness. Where different cultures, religions, identities, histories, and personal experiences can meet. Where art raises questions, inspires empathy, preserves memory, and reminds us of our shared responsibility towards one another.
This year’s festival once again offers a rich and diverse programme of film screenings, theatre performances, exhibitions, discussions, encounters, and educational events. Together, we will explore questions of human rights and dignity, the memory of the Holocaust and other tragedies of history, the dangers of hatred and exclusion, but also the enduring power of courage, friendship, compassion, and hope.
A special place in our programme is dedicated to young people, because we believe that tolerance does not begin with grand declarations, but with education, meaningful encounters, and the willingness to listen to others.
The festival will officially open on Monday, 2nd November, at 7:00 PM at Mini teater, and we warmly invite you to join us not only for the opening evening but for all the events taking place throughout the festival until 10th November.
The House of Tolerance – House of Others is more than a festival. It is an invitation to remain human despite our differences. To refuse indifference. To resist becoming accustomed to hatred. To remember those whose voices were silenced and to listen to those who need our solidarity today.
We believe that art alone cannot change the world, but it can change the way we see it. And sometimes, that is where the most important changes begin.
We warmly invite you to explore the attached festival programme, discover the events that speak to you, and join us. Better still, come back throughout the festival, take part in different events, conversations, and encounters, and help create the spirit of openness and humanity that lies at the heart of our festival.
We look forward to welcoming you!
