Opening night for the Slovenes Rozman and Waltl in the Culture Summer in Osijek, Croatia
On July 5, the performance HANSEL AND GRETTEL - written by Andrej Rozman-Roza and directed by Robert Waltl had its opening night within the festival The osijek Culture Summer. The performance was created in coproduction between the Festival and the Children Theatre of Osijek. In 2003 Robert Waltl already directed a theatre hit The Tinderbox by H.C.Andersen, which brought him awards in the Naj, Naj, Naj Festival in Zagreb, and in the international festival of performances for children in Shanghay in China.
The dramaturgy for the performance was made by Ivica Buljan, the text was translated by Srećo Fičor. Waltl joined top Croatian artists in this performance - let us only mention the song and music writer and singer Arsen Dedić. The set design was made by the Croatian group NUMEN (working also with Tomaž Pandur), costumes were designed by Ana. S. Gecan, the choreography was created by Irma Omerzu. Delliric verses are interpreted by excellen actors: Areta Ćurković, Ivica Lučić, Đorđe Dukić, Zvjezdana Bučanin, Lidija Helajz. The living forest performed by Aleksandra Colnarič, Inga Šaroć and Snježana Ivković is a special attraction for the audience.
