Festival of Medieval and Renaissance Music and Medieval Day

On September 10 and 11 different locations in Ljubljana will host the traditional Festival of medieval and Renaissance Music and the Medieval Day /Tromostovje, Citypark, Zvezda Park, Ljubljana castle): MINI TEATER in co-operation with the Festival Ljubljana and supported by the Board of tourism and the Municipality of Ljubljana(Department od Culture) prepared an interesting and variegated program with musicians, dancers, fencers and other artists from Croatia, Italy, Check Republic and Slovenia.

Performances of different groups on various locations in Ljubljana all day long.

PREŠEREN SQUARE

20:00-21:00 – presentation of medieval groups from Croatia, Italy, Check Republic and Slovenia

LJUBLJANA CASTLE

10:00-19:00 – medieval market, medieval inn, knight’s camp -the park outside the castle walls

10:00 – holy mass in Latin; Chapel of St. George

11:00-12:00 – archer tournament - Ljubljana Castle

14:00 – gathering of all participants in Medieval Days in Zvezda Park (Kongresni trg)

14:30 – departure of the solemn march up to Ljubljana Castle through the centre of the city (knights, horsemen, banner men, castle noble men – about 200 participants)

 

16:00-19:00 – Ljubljana Castle courtyard

On Sunday there will be free city-bus transport from Streliška Street to Ljubljana Castle.

Price of the tickets for the afternoon event on the Castle: 500,00 SIT; all other events are free.

Medieval Days are organised by MINI TEATER  in co-operation with the Festival Ljubljana.
