14th MEDIEVAL DAYS IN LJUBLJANA

27TH TO 29TH OF SEPTEMBER  2013

Locations: From Križevniška Street to City Hall, Three Bridges, Congress Square and Square Of The French Revolution

All that desire the path down the past will be able to do so once again in 2013 because from 27th to 29th September 2013 Mini teater will one again organize the traditional Medieval Days that will with numerous events and entertainment lead us on an interesting journey to past centuries.

Costumed medieval nobles, ladies and knights will once again get a lot of attention on locations from Križevniška Street to City Hall, Prešern Square, The Three Bridges, Congress square and Square of the French Revolution. You will be able to participate in social gatherings, setting of the knight camp while enjoying medieval music and dancing and admiring sword games and much more!

We will start on Friday, September 27th at 8pm, with the Oppening of the Mediavel Days on the Square of the French Revolution with performances by knight group Markus, ensemble Rattus Rattus and medieval dancers Vere Gratia from Czech Republic.

On Saturday, September 28th between 10am and 7pm, an interesting and rich programme with more than 200 performers for every taste awaits us! Everyone, from the youngest to those a bit older, will enjoy our journey to history.

For Saturday we are also preparing the Grand Mediaval Parade throughout Ljubljana of all the participants of the Medieval Days and Medieval Parade of Flags of the Italian Group Storico (Gruppo Storico) from Castiglion Fiorentino and Sbandieratori di Subbano through the city.

A knight camp will be set up for knights to perform their skills of fencing, social games and knight performances. We will set up a medieval market and medieval print shop, flagmen from Italy will be there and numerous nobles, ladies and knights also, with medieval music and workshops for children, dancing and social games throughout the day.

We will close the Medieval Days on Sunday, September 29th at 10 am with the Medieval Parade of Flags of the Italian Group Storico (Gruppo Storico) from Castiglion Fiorentino and Sbandieratori di Subbano through the city.

As all these years the programme is prepared by Mini teater with the help of Ljubljana Tourism and the Municipality of Ljubljana. All the events are free of charge.

At 8pm: OPENING OF THE 14TH MEDIEVAL DAYS IN LJUBLJANA

SATURDAY, 28TH SEPTEMBER 2013

14TH MEDIEVAL DAYS IN LJUBLJANA.

Location: Križevniška street, Square of French revolution, Breg

Between 12 am and 6 pm:MEDIEVAL RESTAURANT PRI VITEZU, Breg

Between 9 am and 7 pm:MEDIEVAL MARKET with more than 20 different medieval craftsmen.

At 11.30 am:GRAND MEDIEVAL PARADE throughout Ljubljana of all the participants of the Medieval days

Path: Križevniška Street, Breg, New Square, Cobbler’s bridge, Old Square, City Hall, Prešeren’s Square, Wolfova Street, Congress Square, Gosposka Street and Križanke

 

At 4.30 pm:MEDIEVAL PARADE WITH FLAGS of Italian Group Storico (Gruppo Storico) from Castiglion Fiorentino and Sbandieratori di Subbano

Path: Križevniška Street, Breg, New Square, Shoemaker’s bridge, Old Square, City Hall, Prešeren’s Square, Wolfova Street, Congress Square, Gosposka Street and Križanke

Between 10am and 7pm:INTERESTING AND RICH PROGRAMME awaits with more than 200 performers for each and every taste! Everyone from the youngest to those a bit older will enjoy the path down history. We will rediscover historical sights and customs of the past. 

A larger knight camp will be set up for knights to perform their skills of fencing and social games and to perform a few knight performances. Of course medieval music and workshops for children, dancing and social games will be present. Flagmen from Italy will be thereand numerous nobles, ladies and knights. We will also set up a medieval market and medieval print shop. 

 

As a part of the programme of the Medieval Days on Saturday CREATIVE WORKSHOPS will take place between 10 am and 6 pm on Križevniška street:

-          At The Blacksmith’s: with special hammers we will create special chains from copper

-          At The Blacksmith’s,: with special hammers we will make on wooden grounds copper bells

-          At The Joiner: we will create rotating button from wood

-          At The Milliner’s: we will create from unprocessed wool balls for balling

-          At The Milliner’s: we will create from colorful unprocessed wool strings for finger games and also test them

-          At The Knitter: with the help of wooden forks for knitting we will create a brade for hair or belt 

-          With Dance Master: we will dance a few dances from those times 

-          At The Master Of Writing: creative workshop of calligraphy

-          At The Seemstress: pouches for small treasures 

-          Page School: of different movement techniques

-          Labirinth: that leads to the treasure

-          Juggling

-          Stories From The Past

-          Presentation of Old Instruments
